I am a mother, teacher and community worker with a passionate commitment to enhancing relationships through clear communication. I have wide experience in education, community groups and interpersonal relationships.

I have a BA in English and a Diploma in Teaching. My 12 years’ teaching experience spans primary, secondary and adult education.

Searching for ways to develop communication and conflict resolution skills in education led me to Marshall Rosenberg’s concept of non-violent communication in 2002. I find it a powerful tool to enable people to express clearly to others what they mean and what they need.

I am currently working in the health sector training staff to work with people with intellectual disabilities. One project my colleagues and I are excited about is adapting the principles of NVC to deliver workshops to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

I also work as a freelance trainer delivering foundation NVC workshops to groups in human services, government, education and community groups around regional WA and Perth.

Locations:  Workshops are held in Albany about every 2 months and can be held in other towns in WA and Perth upon request.

Foundation level

Talking Peace

In this two day workshop Marg offers participants the opportunity to learn and practice strategies to help:

• recognize when our “buttons” get pushed, and change our typical reactions
• identify and express our needs clearly so that we are more likely to be able to
  meet them
• hear difficult messages without habitual reactions of rejection, hurt or blame
• listen to others in ways that help them to find their own solutions to problems
• find strategies that help ease conflicts
• care for people without getting burnt out
• experience more peace and ease in our relationships

Foundation workshops are held over two days, but I am willing to be flexible to deliver workshops in a format which will best suit the needs of participants. Available to schools, health, and other sectors.
