What is Nonviolent Communication?
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a simple, effective and learnable four step process developed in 1964 by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg PhD (shown above).
It has been used successfully around the world to resolve conflicts and to deepen connections in personal relationships, schools, hospitals, corporations and governments. It is an emotionally-intelligent, awareness-based communication approach.

Serving connection through language choice
For many of us, learning how to speak and listen NONVIOLENTLY is about learning how to listen and how to speak DIFFERENTLY. Learning to understand WHAT you want to mean requires learning HOW to mean. Sharing our meaning with others is mostly done with the words we use. The words which we choose have the power to impact both the way we see ourselves and others, and the way others see us. Our interactions can be enriched and be more satisfying when we understand the power of the language of connection. As a linguist working in the university sector for the past 30 years, I would like to share my wonderful NVC language journey. I want others to experience the beauty of language and how it serves our connection.
If you are interested in how to mean differently, Coaching2Clarity will give you a language learning perspective for your journey of learning to communicate with compassion and empathy.
Understand the difference between observations vs evaluations, feelings vs faux feelings; needs vs strategies; and requests vs demands.
Come and meet like-minded people, share your insights and challenges, and develop a language toolkit that will support you in compassionate communication.
Check out our online, self-paced courses and teacher-led offerings on our website. We offer a Foundation course in Compassionate Communication, Practice Groups and NVC Language Learning tutorials. Experience lots of practice in a safe, supportive environment with like-minded peers.
